Knowing the moisture content of wood is crucial when burning it. When the wood moisture content is too high, the water in the wood needs to be heated and evaporated before combustion can occur. This leads to lower flame temperatures, smoldering gases, and incomplete combustion. In summary, high wood moisture content results in poor efficiency, pollutants, and odor emissions.
The Bluetooth wood moisture meter allows for checking the moisture content of up to 44 different types of wood, including 36 hardwoods and 8 conifers like beech, spruce, pine, and maple. The moisture measurement can range up to 150% in relation to the dry matter. To ensure precise measurements, the Bluetooth wood moisture meter features automatic and manual temperature compensation between -20°C to 50°C / -4°F to 122°F. To conduct a measurement, a pair of measuring tips is inserted into the wood using the ram electrode on the Bluetooth moisture meter. Two different pairs of measuring tips are available, including a pair with 45 x Ø3.05 mm needles that can penetrate the wood up to a depth of 30 mm.
To initiate a measurement, the user selects the type of wood to be measured through an Android or iOS device and starts the measurement process. The current measurement value is displayed within seconds. The Bluetooth moisture measuring device connects to the mobile device via a Bluetooth 4.0 interface. Once a measurement is completed, the measured value from the Bluetooth wood moisture meter can be saved on the mobile device and exported in CSV and PDF formats. The Bluetooth humidity measuring device requires a 9V DC power supply unit. For mobile use, it can also be operated with a 9V block battery.
