Description
The viscometer measures the viscosity of liquids by detecting the mechanical resistance that opposes the rotational movement of a spindle. This resistance is then converted into a viscosity value. Despite having a high measuring range of 10…2,000,000 cP or mPa*s, the rotary viscometer maintains an accuracy of ± 1.0%. The viscometer also features an immersion resistance temperature sensor that can measure temperatures between 0 and 100 °C or 0 and 212 °F.
This viscometer is commonly used in quality control for oils since the viscosity of oils can vary based on temperature. It is equipped with a timer function that allows it to operate independently for a set period of time specified by the user. The measurement data collected by the rotary viscometer can be transferred to a PC via the RS232 interface. Software designed for the rotary viscometer can then display the temperature and viscosity profiles in both graphical and tabular formats. Additionally, an optional printer can be connected directly to the viscometer to obtain printed measurements.
The viscometer can be adapted to different environments. It can be leveled using its height-adjustable feet to ensure that the measuring spindle remains vertical in the liquid being measured. The rotary viscometer also includes a bubble level on its head to assist with the leveling process. Furthermore, the height of the test device can be adjusted by approximately 25 cm from the viscometer in order to properly position the spindle.
