It can measure non-magnetic layers (e.g. paint, plastic, chrome, copper, zinc, enamel) on steel/iron and non-conductive layers (e.g. paint, plastic, enamel, paper, glass, rubber) on copper, aluminum, brass, stainless steel, and anodized aluminum.
