The photovoltaic meter is an essential tool for examining the characteristics of solar cells. It covers a wide range of solar modules with a DC voltage range of 0…60V and a DC current range of 0…12 A. The measured characteristic curves are directly saved on the solar module tester and can be stored in its data memory. Up to 100 measurements can be stored in the photovoltaic meter’s data memory and then be read and processed on a PC using the provided software. Additionally, the photovoltaic meter can be fully operated through the software.

The photovoltaic meter has two measuring functions for determining a solar module’s characteristics. In automatic mode, the meter creates the characteristic curve using automatic parameters, providing an initial assessment of the module’s condition. In manual mode, the start and end of the current value can be set on the photovoltaic meter. By storing the area of the solar module and the power of the incoming radiation in W/m², the photovoltaic meter can calculate the cell’s efficiency and fill factor. Another useful measuring function is the one-point measurement, which allows for controlled checking of a specific current.

The photovoltaic meter’s 4.8″ LCD display allows for easy reading of the characteristic curve and all measured values simultaneously. Each individual measuring point on the meter can be accessed for better analysis of the characteristic curve. The photovoltaic meter also allows for switching between current, voltage, and power by pressing a button, providing different views of the X and Y axes.

Due to its multiple functions, the photovoltaic meter is the ideal device for assessing the effectiveness of solar modules. It is commonly used in photovoltaic systems and research facilities for the ongoing improvement of solar modules. The photovoltaic meter can be optionally equipped with an ISO calibration certificate.
