PP and CP simulation /
Shock-proof socket connection / Direct acceptance of all connections via laboratory plugs
Electromobility is becoming increasingly important, particularly in relation to charging stations for electric vehicles. To ensure the proper function, protective devices, and insulation of permanently installed charging stations (also known as wallboxes), specialized measuring devices are necessary. These measuring devices are often already available for performing the required measurements. However, an EV test instrument is needed for connecting the measuring device to the charging station.
The EV test instrument is specifically designed for this purpose and comes with a range of useful functions. For instance, all lines that come from the charging station are individually output through laboratory plugs, allowing for access to all lines via the EV test instrument. This facilitates the insulation check of the charging station by using the EVSE adapter. Additionally, the EV test instrument is equipped with a shock-proof plug connection. It can also be used to verify the residual current device.
In addition to the supply lines for charging the electric vehicle, the charging cable also contains two interfaces: the CP line (Control Pilot) and the PP line (Proximity Plug). The CP line enables communication between the electric vehicle and the charging station, providing information about the current status of the vehicle. On the other hand, the PP line facilitates communication between the connected charging cable and the charging station, allowing the cable to inform the station of its maximum load capacity. To test both of these functions, the EV test instrument includes corresponding simulators.
