The current clamp can easily measure AC currents up to 1000 A. It can also measure voltages up to 1000V AC / DC. Therefore, it is capable of measuring apparent power, reactive power, and active power up to 750 kW. Additionally, it can measure inrush current, which is the high current that some consumers have at the moment of switch-on. This measurement is not possible with a conventional current clamp, but the PCE-PCM 3 can handle it.

The current clamp also has a NCV (Not Connected Voltage) function, which allows for checking if a voltage is applied to a line without making physical contact. This makes the user’s work much easier. Furthermore, besides its measuring function, the current clamp can be connected to a terminal via the Bluetooth interface. This enables direct transmission of measured data from the current clamp to the terminal for logging, analysis, and sending.
