Description
The Vehicle Battery Tester is designed to test the condition of 12V and 24V starter batteries. It checks the battery voltage during the charging cycle, starting, and idling to determine the battery’s functionality. The tester displays the battery’s status as a percentage on the LCD and provides a recommendation for replacement if necessary.
When testing the battery while starting the car, the tester measures the voltage drop of the battery to assess its condition. It can also test the alternator of the car. All measured values and test results are shown on the LCD. The tester utilizes Kelvin clamps on lengthy measuring leads to measure the battery voltage.
To perform the measurement, the tester should be connected to the battery. It automatically turns on when connected to a battery with a residual voltage between 9V and 35V. The tester operates using the voltage from the battery being tested and does not require additional supply voltage. The user must enter specific battery specifications, such as voltage and type, before selecting the measurement mode.
Additionally, the tester can measure the CCA (cold cranking amps) of the battery, which indicates the maximum current it can provide at -18°C for 30 seconds. With its comprehensive functionality and user-friendly design, the car battery tester is an essential tool in any car workshop to prevent sudden battery failures. Regular testing of the battery’s condition is recommended, especially during the winter months when starting the engine may be more challenging.
